The business behind the offer
Key facts about us
We service and power around one in ten of the UK’s registered energy brokers. So if you have not heard of us directly, the chances are you have come across us in one form or another.
Every broker selling to microbusinesses must be signed up to an approved redress scheme, and there are two. The Energy Ombudsman’s Broker Report puts 1,952 brokers in its scheme at the end of 2025, and the Dispute Resolution Ombudsman lists a little over 200 energy broker members, giving roughly 2,150 registered brokers in total. Over 200 sub-brokers are registered with us, so around one in ten. On top of that, tens of thousands of businesses use our Envisij software to track their cost, consumption and carbon.
4.5TWh a year is roughly what 1.5 million UK homes use, or a city the size of Newcastle and Sunderland combined. Put another way, it is about 2,000 supermarket superstores, 15,000 mid-sized hotels, or the entire annual demand of a large steelworks and its supply chain.
Our story
- 2019
Tritility Limited is incorporated (company number 11790834) and founded in Washington, Tyne and Wear, by Jamie Wyatt and Jonathan Gould. Jonathan brings more than twenty years in the energy sector, including renewable technologies and leading B2B and B2C energy sales teams. Jamie comes from software development and marketing, holds a degree in financial management and is a member of the Chartered Management Institute. The founding idea: an energy consultancy that does more than compare prices. The name comes from the three utilities the business handles: electricity, gas and water.
- 2019 to 2021
The direct consultancy grows through the pandemic and, in 2021, the business moves to Jarrow and expands into its 22,000 sq ft head office. Tritility subscribes to the TPI Code of Practice and the Energy Ombudsman ADR scheme from early on, ahead of any requirement to do so. The business commits to full supplier independence: no preferred supplier, every contract placed on the customer's needs.
- 2022
Named Best Consultancy to Work For. Mental health accreditations achieved. The first TriStar Awards, Tritility's staff recognition event, are sponsored by industry partners including SmartestEnergy, Corona Energy, TotalEnergies, Everflow and Energy Live News. Accredited by the Good Business Charter for meeting all ten of its standards.
- 2023 to 2024
Growth to over 100 staff. Direct supplier panel reaches 20 and then 30 relationships covering SME, corporate, fixed and flexible supply across electricity, gas and water. Services expand to bill validation, metering, new connections, portfolio reporting, Energy Metrics reporting, carbon accounting and net zero planning. Tritility becomes an official Future Net Zero Solution Partner. Trustpilot rating holds at five stars as reviews pass 600.
- June 2025
The indirect channel soft launches: an aggregator partnership offered first to a small group of hand-picked brokers rather than the open market. Partners get the full supplier panel, enhanced commission terms negotiated on Tritility's portfolio, instant metering and AQ data, credit checking, a white-label quoting and cost-comparison platform, and a named account manager reachable by phone, email or WhatsApp. No setup fees, no subscriptions; Tritility earns per contract.
- May 2026
The aggregator model is formally launched to the wider market through Energy Live News, giving established TPIs access to 25 or more suppliers, white-labelled tools and enhanced commission flexibility without disturbing their existing direct relationships.
- June 2026
Tritility acquires the Envisij energy monitoring and management platform, together with its companion products Read My Tariff and Energy Map, from EV charging specialist Fuuse Limited. Envisij was originally developed in Cumbria in 2014. Several of the Envisij team join Tritility. The platform is rolled out to every direct Tritility customer, covering more than 5,000 businesses and 17,000 meter points, and to every broker partner, free and fully white-labelled.
- July 2026
DemandIQ launches: a capacity cost forecasting and management platform that right-sizes agreed kVA and TCR banding, forecasts capacity charges and recovers overpayments before a contract is sold (envisij.com/demandiq). Every Tritility sales consultant is trained on it and it is made available to partner brokers.
- August 2026
Over 200 sub-brokers are registered with the indirect channel, less than eighteen months after the soft launch.
- September 2026
Tritility launches its acquisition campaign and makes its first offer for a broker business: a referral-led energy cost-management business, structured around what the founder needed rather than a book-only template. A separate ventures company is established alongside Tritility to own acquired businesses and platforms so that each keeps its own identity.

The numbers
Our team
The same small group handles every deal, from the first call to the day after completion. You will know each of them by name.

Jamie Wyatt
Leads the acquisition end to end: first call, structure, heads of terms and completion. Commercial terms are agreed with him directly, not through a committee.
Read Jamie's full profile
Jonathan Gould
Owns the supplier side: panel terms, commission mechanics and the novation of your contracts and book so income keeps landing through the transition.

Brendan McNeany
Runs the legal workstream internally: NDA, heads of terms, SPA drafting and negotiation, warranties and post-completion integration. Having this in-house keeps legal costs and delays down on both sides.

Sophie Betteridge
Reviews turnover, margin, commission reconciliations and completion accounts. Works from the data you provide plus industry data, so the numbers are agreed once rather than reopened late in the process.
Tim Hipperson
Advises the board on regulation and compliance, and leads non-financial due diligence: contracts and compliance, systems and data, supplier terms, people and TUPE, and operational handover planning.
Martin Needham
Senior roles with energy consultancies and suppliers before Tritility. On a deal he handles supplier novation and commercial integration, so contracts and commission arrangements carry over cleanly.
David Hillam
Brings acquired sales teams into Tritility: commission schemes, targets and day-to-day management, so your people know where they stand from week one.
Greig Fairweather
Leads people and culture across the group. On an acquisition he owns the people side: TUPE, contracts, communication with your staff at the right moment, and making sure the team you have built lands well with us.
Vic Tilsley
Runs day-to-day operations. On a deal she plans and delivers the operational handover: systems, data, supplier processes and servicing, so your customers see no drop in service through the transition.
Both founders are active shareholders. Diligence is run by named people rather than an outsourced team, which is why our process is measured in weeks rather than months.
External advisers
Muckle LLP
One of the North East's leading corporate law firms, instructed on our sales and acquisitions. They sit alongside our in-house legal function on structure, documentation and completion mechanics.
Audit, banking and advisers
We have funding in place to proceed, so no offer we make is conditional on raising finance. Our accounts are audited by Johnston Carmichael and we bank with Barclays and Allica Bank. Muckle LLP act as our external legal advisers on sales and acquisitions, alongside our in-house legal function.
We also complete due diligence quicker than most buyers. Our own internal software measures contract performance and links to EES, GES, Xoserve and Electralink, so a book is verified against industry data rather than checked by hand. That saves weeks of manual checks, reconciliations and disputes.
